Mark J. Desmond has dedicated his life to helping the brain-injured community to recover and regain their lives. He developed the High Hopes rehabilitation method from its beginning to the present. Mark has worked with countless brain-injured people from all walks of life and has helped many regain the ability to walk again. He has witnessed many miracles and awesome recoveries and as well as seen many people regain a life worth living.

Mark with the support of the community and his accomplished staff have changed the face of brain-injury rehabilitation. Proving that people who sustain brain-injuries can regain their lives. It is not easy, but with the right program at the right time, all things are possible. Mark works with every High Hopes brain-injured students each and every day. To quote Mark directly,“We do not give up on anyone but rather find successful solutions for each person.” Mark is looking forward to continued success and helping High Hopes grow to help more brain-injured people each year.

Mark coached swimming for over 43 years. He taught people who ranged from beginners to Olympians. He coached swim club, high school swimming, and coached with two Olympic teams. Mark enjoys the process of helping people accomplish their goals as well as seeing the impossible become possible.

Mark has a great family, his wife Tracey is a registered nurse and is our case manager, Mark’s seven children have all volunteered at High Hopes. His son, Matt Desmond, is currently an instructor at High Hopes. Mark’s entire family have been supporters of High Hopes for many years. Thank you to everyone who has made High Hopes possible!
