March is Brain Injury Awareness Month, a national campaign focused on the real and lasting impact of brain injuries. Recent data show that
approximately 2.8 million people in the United States sustain a traumatic brain injury each year.
More than 60,000 deaths annually are linked to TBI, which affects millions of Americans, and they live with long-term cognitive, physical, and emotional effects.
Falls and motor vehicle crashes remain the leading causes of injury, especially among older adults and young children. Prevention remains the most effective strategy. Wearing seatbelts, using helmets during sports
and recreation, preventing falls at home, and never driving under the influence significantly reduce risk. At High Hopes, we are dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by brain injury while promoting awareness, prevention, and meaningful recovery in
our community.
