Megan's Story

Megan was special and left us all to carry on the great challenge! Megan loved High Hopes!
She would tell everyone of her many accomplishments. She would praise High Hopes for
helping her. Many people came and supported High Hopes because of Megan. Megan always
thanked everyone who prayed for High Hopes. Megan was always in the finals of every
fundraising event.

Megan was born in Boulder, Colorado and later moved to Newport Beach California. She went
to Newport Harbor High School and when she graduated she returned to Boulder, Colorado for
college. Megan, during her senior year at college fell head first off her bike, and suffered a
major traumatic Brain Injury. Megan’s supportive family was told she would not live. God had a
different plan.

Megan always lived life to the fullest and she encouraged others. Megan was hard working and
always wanted to improve.

Megan had many accomplishments . She was told by the medical community that she would
never walk again. She learned how to walk again after years in a wheelchair here at High
Hopes! She worked hard each and every day! She participated in Occupational Therapy,
Physical Therapy, conditioning, robotics, strength training, pool therapy, cognitive re-training ,
and attended each and every day. Megan had an amazing recovery and loved life.
Megan had a bright personality and was loved by many. In 2016 Megan was diagnosed with
breast cancer. With her great attitude she beat the cancer. Unfortunately, the cancer returned
causing her to recently pass away.

We all will miss Megan. Megan wanted everyone not to give up! Keep attending High Hopes!
