BRAIN INJURY AWARENESS MONTH
Brain injuries are one of the most serious types of
injuries caused from accidents. It is estimated that
every 9 seconds someone in the United States sustains
a brain injury. In California there will be over 22,000
brain injuries this year. It is the silent epidemic that
touches the lives of many Americans. To reduce the
instance of brain injury, the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention recommends wearing a
seatbelt, and never driving impaired as well as
implementing safety precautions to prevent falls.
